Gary Birdsall, Jr. is a CFP® professional and licensed Louisiana attorney. After earning his law degree in 2012 from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, Gary co-founded a primary-care health clinic, where he served as administrator for over five years. In this role, he managed the clinic’s business operations, insurance processes, and strategic planning, gaining invaluable experience in building and growing a business from the ground up. He also led a population health and wellness initiative focused on disease prevention and improving quality of life, which sparked a major shift in his career.

 

Recognizing that many people seek help—whether medical or legal—only after problems arise, Gary developed a passion for proactive planning. This realization drew him to personal finance in 2018, where he now helps clients anticipate and prepare for life’s challenges before they occur. Building on these principles, Gary provides comprehensive, holistic financial planning designed to empower clients to pursue their financial and life goals with clarity and confidence. His diverse career experience, entrepreneurial mindset, and legal expertise uniquely equip him to identify potential planning issues and craft effective financial solutions.

Gary’s personal “WHY” began while attending Nicholls State University after he was involved in a serious car accident that shattered his femur, leaving him unable to walk unassisted for three years. After undergoing multiple major reconstructive surgeries, Gary had to relearn how to walk and cope with long-term injury. Shortly after graduating from law school, residual effects from the accident resurfaced, leading to spinal surgery. These life-altering experiences gave Gary a profound understanding and deep appreciation of the fragility of time, health, relationships, and happiness. His journey—educational, professional, and personal—has galvanized his “WHY” and fuels a relentless passion to help others make the most of their lives and overcome adversity, while striving to achieve the highest levels of purpose and fulfillment for themselves, their families, and their communities.

 

Gary grew up in Cut Off, Louisiana, and has a deep-rooted appreciation for the culture and people of the Bayou Region. He and his wife, Kandice, reside in Houma where they raise their two children, Gary III and Eleanor. An avid outdoorsman, Gary is passionate about offshore fishing, hiking, camping, and gardening. He enjoys cooking his fresh catches and homegrown produce, sharing these experiences with family and friends. Gary enjoys long road trips to the mountains, deserts, beaches, and national and state parks where he and his family strike the perfect balance between rugged tent camping and more traditional travel through immersing themselves in local culture, savoring regional food, drink, and unique experiences. In both his personal and professional life, Gary embodies the philosophy of living fully in the present while planning wisely for the future.
